Lenard Gimpel (*1979), studied audio communication and technical acoustics at the TU Berlin. Since 2001 he has been working as a freelance composer, sound designer and musician. He composes and produces music and sound design for theatre, radio plays, short film productions, sound installations, live performances and concerts. In addition, he did research in the field of room acoustics and auditory brand communication and developed concepts for the auditory brand appearance of different companies.
Since 2014 he has composed and produced music for theatre productions at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, Schauspiel Leipzig, Volksbuehne Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, Ringlokschuppen Mühlheim and others. His music and sound design has been used in numerous radio plays and short films, one of which was shown in the competition at the 2011 Berlinale. The transmedia project Dina Foxx - Deadly Contact (2014, ZDF), for which Lenard Gimpel produced music and sound design for the digital content, won the 2015 International Digital Emmy Award.
