The WW1 Centenary Exhibition - 2015

Global touring Exhibition

After the reopening of the First World War Galleries at the Imperial War Museum in London in 2014, barely a year later a modified version emerged in partnership with Australian company iEC EXHIBITION!, conceived as a global touring exhibition. For London's IWM exhibition, Idee und Klang Audio Design had provided the integral audio concept, as well as the tonal content. Here, too, an innovative sound masking approach was applied in order to make the entire exhibition acoustically coherent.

The WW1 Centenary Exhibition features a fresh approach: various large-scale projections of animation movies are guiding visitors through the exhibition. In the films, crucial events of WW1, such as the downing of the Red Baron, are revisited and affectionately animated in the style of war propaganda posters. Idee und Klang Audio Design produced the sound design for all of these movies, as well as the multi-channel mix. For areas adopted from the IWM exhibition, Idee und Klang Audio Design took care of the necessary spatial and technical adjustments.
