Colors TV – a cultural magazine
Colors TV is the documentary film version of the internationally renowned magazine COLORS, «A magazine about the rest of the world».
Our task for this project was to find an acoustic identity to represent the magazine independently of its topics. Likewise, we were asked to create an unorthodox and uniform sound design, which could be adapted in subtle variations to each topic. The focal points were to be «people» and «life». We choose the sound of breathing as the basic element for the audiodesign, to literally ‹breathe life› into the magazine. The given transitions and title insertions were arranged with the sounds of breathing, varying from practically inaudible to audible, according to their topic and content. This new usage of a familiar noise created an unmistakable and fitting sound identity for the film.
